Mary is an emerging Chinese-Irish Canadian writer based in Calgary, Alberta. She completed her BA in English (Honours) and Psychology from Mount Royal University where she specialized in poetry, post-colonialism, and composition pedagogy. Mary is currently an MFA candidate in poetry from the University of St. Thomas (TX).

WRITING

Mary's poetry has appeared in FreeFall Magazine and the Narrating Ourselves From The City Exhibit at the Esker Foundation. Her poem “A Canadian Daughter” made the 2025 CBC Poetry Prize longlist.Her academic work has been published in the Mount Royal Undergraduate Humanities Review and presented at the 2023 European Conference of African Studies.
